What a great course we had yesterday and boy did we cover some information. Thank you to everyone that came down to the studio to take part in the course. In the morning session we covered as much as we could about the process of shooting weddings, looking at techniques, posing, light, backgrounds, timings, sales, albums and a whole lot more.In the afternoon we headed off on location with 2 bride & a groom to shoot some fantastic images for people to use for their own businesses

Thank you to Adam, Fi & Natalie for modelling for us and braving the cold wind and the odd wasp here and there!

Here are a few images from the day. Please feel free to leave a comment on our blog or if you have any comments or questions about the images or courses.

March 29th saw us host a great course from the studio, " Funky Flash." Thank you to all that made the full course a success.

Models Mary & Fi thank you for putting up with the shall we say changeable Manchester weather!

It is very important for me on our flash courses that we don't just shoot great images but we learn how they are done, this does take a little more time but there is no point leavng a course not having an idea how to do the shots that you have seen created on the day.

Thanks also to everyone that made it down to the studio, I hope that you all learnt a lot and took some great images. From the feedback that we have had so far it was a great success. Please feel free to leave a comment or a message on the blog if you were on the course or if you have any questions. We will be running another Flash course soon, dates to be released after Easter.

If you have any questions please EMAIL us at the studio or leave a message on the blog.

Hello Brett & Kristie,

So pleasant to meet you and make your acquaintance last Monday on the " Funky Flash " Course.
The course was bob on and because I have a head like a sieve I have made comprehensive notes and have made comments on all my images that tells me the parameters of each images
settings i.e. ISO ,f number and speeds etc and included all my mistakes as Kirstie suggested, I can see why and Begin to bench mark my thoughts of settings given certain light situations ...blimey that was long winded !Once again thanks for Funky Flash, everything was perfect and I will reap the benefits' I'm sure.

Kind regards,

Andy

Hey Brett and Kristie,

Many thanks for the extra info - really appreciate it
All your marketing materials are so stylish - it is a pleasure to view

What can I say about the course on March 29th but "Funky"
I thoroughly enjoyed the course, learnt lots from individual tuition and tuition given to others too
The morning was a fabulous grounding for the practical's late morning and afternoon
and the lighting achieved with off-camera flash and an ezybox was just amazing - I was absolutely stunned. I have now ordered an ezybox to continue developing my lighting skills
this will allow me to shoot models outdoors using many of the products I need to photograph.
Many thanks again for all your help and tuition on the Funky Flash course
All the very best to you both for a happy and successful future
Take care
Dot

I found the course fantastic in that it gave an all round understanding of using off camera flash. The prcatical session was the best way to see how it all comes together on a shoot and has definitely inspired me to experiment with using off camera flash in the future. Many thanks for a great day, Margaret

A couple of weeks ago saw us in New York, mainly chilling out for a few days but we also had a pre-wedding shoot with one of our couples who live there. Thanks to Danielle & Stewart for letting us drag them around the streets for an hour or so despite the fact it was very cold, around -10-15c! We located our shoot around the West village where they live. It was important for them to have pictures here and not in the New York tourist hot spots.

Despite the fact that my camera equipment was lost in transit, we still managed to carry out the shoot with a camera body I smuggled onboard ( no hand luggae at all!) and a lense that we borrowed from B&H.

We are very much looking forward to shooting their wedding this year in Muskoka, north of Toronto.

Here are a few images from the pre-wed shoot.
