Our busy summer continues this week with a fantastic one day course from the studio and on location in Manchester. Our "Wedding Portfolio" course was a great success and thank you to everyone that made it down to the studio.

We were delighted to be using some beautiful original vintage wedding dresses from " Love Miss Daisy" Vintage. Thank you as always to the girls from LMD and great to see you both again.

Thank you also to Zan for some great make-up & hair! Much appreciated. Thank you also to Sophie & Jemma & Aaron for modelling for us.

WARNING ( Long blog post!! ) But worth it!

What a fantastic time we all had a week ago now in the woods in York. Thank you to all of the photographers that signed up for the course and made it down to the campsite in the woods. We had long been planning this course down to the hair & make up, outfits, props, lighting,  shot ideas & location. It was a fantastic success in all aspects of what we did. Thanks to The Flash Centre in Leeds for supplying us with all the equipment that we didn't have already. A big thanks to the girls from Love Miss Daisy for the amazing vintage clothes. A huge thank you to our models Natasha & Rosie for doing an excellent job. To Ali for bringing down her boys and to Jolly days camp site and for letting us shoot their kids also. Thanks to Jodi Spice & Zan Atkinson respectively for make up & hair, a wonderful job as usual!

Also a big thank you to my team for feeding all of us, and for keeping us warm!

On day two we had two sets of kids come down to the camp. Here are a few shots from that session:

What a great course we had yesterday and boy did we cover some information. Thank you to everyone that came down to the studio to take part in the course. In the morning session we covered as much as we could about the process of shooting weddings,looking at techniques, posing, light, backgrounds,timings, sales, albums and a whole lot more.In the afternoon we headed off on location with 2 bride & a groom to shoot some fantastic images for people to use for their own businesses

Thank you to Adam, Fi & Natalie for modelling for us and braving the cold wind and the odd wasp here and there!

Monday this week saw us up at Annabel Williams studio addressing the rather large transition group. There was around 40 photographers. We shared our journey that started in 2002 and talked about our own inspirations and views before looking at a selection of my travel imagery.Thanks to Catherine for the invite and to everyone that was there. It was a very emotional session and looking at our amazing journey in such a short space of time was a great experience.Here is a short video that we used on the day.

Well, 2010 has started with a bang and we are very busy here at Brett Harkness Photography. Getting ready for The Designer Wedding Fayre in London on valentines weekend amongst other tasks such as repainting the studio, 3 lifestyle shoots this week and a couple of things that we are working on which at the moment remain under wraps!!
