Well, next tuesday we have been lucky enugh to be invited to a private drinks reception and rare interview/discussion with one of my all time favourite photographers, Don McCullin. I wrote about Don and his work for my dissertation at Nottingham Trent Uni back in 1995! I bumped into Don at a riot in London in 1993 and have loved his work every since.

This coming meeting has inspired me to post some of my own travel work from the past couple of years as a thank you for the inspiration that Don McCullin has given me over the years. Feel free to look though if you have 5 mins and leave a comment or a message if you have time.

This set are from the Il Palio horserace in Sienna/Italy.A fantastic race where the horses race around the town square, it is over in under 2 mins so you have to be quick!

Inspired by the visits to India from Don McCullin I first went to India during University back in 1994. I have since been back 4 times on different trips from 10 days-3 months. An amazing place that will forever remain in my heart & soul. You will see different images from different trips, using cameras from Leicas with film and Canone EOS 1ds mark III cameras which I now use. Regardless of the medium used I think the impact and the memories remain the same.

Here are some images from different trips:

Here are some images from a trip to Africa. We lived in a village outside of Niarobi for a couple of weeks. An amazing experience. We washed in the rivers with the locals and when we came to leave the villagers had clubbed together and bought us a crate of Delmonte pineapple chunks, a months wage but considered a great parting gift.

Some fantastic images Brett. One question though, if you had to pick your favourite travel lens what would it be???

Darren.
