Diane + Mike - Babington
What a fantastic day we had at Babington House near Frome / Somerset last week. With ex Welsh Rugby captain Mike Hall and his beautiful bride Diane. We arrived the night before just before the church rehearsal with plenty of time to meet the couple and families. We then took a few pictures during the evening with a relaxed informal BBQ in the walled garden.
We arrived early at Babington to photograph the guys enjoying clay pigeon shooing in the grounds of Babington House with the brides son taking the spoils! Throughout the morning we then flitted between the girls and guys getting ready. With a Babington ceremony usually at 4pm we had plenty of time to take pictures of the house and flowers being installed! With 4pm approaching we were advised that there was a small fire in the house so the fire brigade had to attend. This put the ceremony back by 30 mins or so but with the chapel being only a few steps away from the house it didn’t spoil timings too much!
After a beautiful ceremony we headed outside to lovely hazy sunshine and drinks and canapes on the lawn infront of Babington House.
Eclectic Babington
I have been photographing weddings at Babington House for over 13 years now with over 75 weddings! Every one of them completely different. Which is what makes Babington so unique. Wedding just seem to ‘happen’ here with the greatest of ease and sophistication. It ticks like a well oiled clock and everything is timed to perfection and this reflects in the nature of how we photograph there too. Very relaxed and calm is the approach picking off shots and creating memories as we go.
After a little time for family shots and bridal party we had 5 mins with the bride & groom for some pictures before everyone was called jnto the orangery for the wedding breakfast. I have to say that the flowers on this wedding were out of this world and Jo & her team from Passion did a superb job.
All in a day..
It was also great to be working with Hannah from Sage & Flo - wedding planner who did a stella job. Also it was great to see Lauren from Babington House as well as Fish - in house manager who made sure the day went without a hitch. Into the night Nigel from Stylish Entertainment made sure the party went with a bang. He has been resident DJ at Babington I think for longer than I have been shooting there and always gets the party rocking!
It was a wonderful day and was a great relaxed wedding to start off the year of Babington weddings.
